WiSys Staff Update

MADISON—Jennifer Souter, WiSys' director of intellectual property & licensing, will be leaving WiSys at the end of December to move to Texas to be closer to family.

“Jennifer joined WiSys in 2014 and over the past seven years has contributed in many ways to the work and successes at WiSys and across the UW System. Jennifer took ownership of many new WiSys programs, worked collaboratively with our team and built those programs into outstanding and reliable WiSys offerings,” said WiSys President Arjun Sanga.

Souter expressed appreciation for her time at WiSys.

“It has been a true pleasure serving WiSys these past seven years. I have had the opportunity to see the organization grow and am proud to have contributed to what WiSys is today. While I will certainly miss colleagues and friends forged over the years here in Wisconsin, I am very excited to embark on my next adventure in Texas,” Souter said.

With Souter’s upcoming departure, there are a few additional leadership and staff changes as well as new job opportunities within WiSys.

  • Adhira Sunkara has been appointed assistant director of WiSys and will be working with Arjun Sanga to manage WiSys operations as well as managing events and programming and continuing to lead the innovative ventures initiatives.

  • Tony Hanson has been appointed manager of intellectual property and licensing and will be leading the WiSys team of regional associates and intellectual property and contracts associate, as well as managing WiSys’ intellectual property and licensing efforts.

  • Deborah Lundin will continue her leadership of WiSys’ Research Development division.

  • In addition, Brad Ricker has recently transitioned from WiSys.
