Prototype Hackathon @ UW-Platteville

Design. Build. Present. Win.

This hackathon will engage students to design innovative product prototypes and demonstrate their commercial relevance. Teams will have two dedicated days to design and build a prototype, which will then be judged by a panel based on functionality, market need, and the overall presentation.

The prototype awarded first place by a panel of judges will win a $1,000 cash prize to be split equally between team members and will be accepted into the WiSys Technology Portfolio for potential Intellectual Property Protection. Additionally, there will be a $500 cash prize for second place and a $250 cash prize for third place to be split equally between team members.

Submit your project idea below to be considered. Submissions are due by March 9.

The Prototype Hackathon is an inclusive event for those submitting prototype proposals. However, due to time restrictions and resource availability, there may be a limit of only 10 projects to compete during the final event. If more than 10 projects are submitted, a judging panel will determine which prototypes will move forward to compete during the final event after the build days.

WiSys, in partnership with UW-Platteville's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs through the Student Research & Engagement Fund, College of EMS and the Platteville Regional Chamber of Commerce, invite UW-Platteville students to take part in the fifth annual Prototype Hackathon.
