The WiSys mission is to manage the intellectual property of the University of Wisconsin System to support research and speed technology transfer from university to market to benefit society. To support this mission, WiSys facilitates joint research and development between Wisconsin small companies and the University of Wisconsin System's comprehensive campuses and UW colleges. WiSys will identify appropriate UW System researchers that can help address the technical challenges facing your business, and limited funding may be available for projects that are undertaken on UW campuses. Joint inventions with UW researchers will be patent protected by WiSys and available for exclusive or non-exclusive licensing by the partner company. Another benefit to companies is the opportunity to engage talented UW System students in product-oriented research and development projects.
