WiSys Technology Foundation's efforts were recently cited in a UW Oshkosh publication for helping create an environment where faculty can conduct innovative research. The article highlighted Regional Associate Bob Wise, a former UWO faculty member who now works to form a closer connection between WiSys and the comprehensive campuses in the northeastern part of the state to better provide researchers the resources they need to get their ideas to market. An example of this relationship in action is work by UWO biotechnologist Toivo Kallas, who has been working with WiSys to market his invention that uses blue-green algae to help make rubbers, pharmaceuticals and jet fuel.
