UW Oshkosh to host WiSys’ annual celebration of research, innovation and entrepreneurship

OSHKOSH—Hundreds of faculty and student researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs from across the University of Wisconsin System will convene at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for the WiSys SPARK Symposium, Aug. 6-8. 

WiSys’ annual summer celebration of the UW System’s best and brightest focuses on: 

  • Networking and seeding cross-campus and cross-sector collaborations.
  • Highlighting impactful faculty research at regional UW campuses.
  • Showcasing undergraduate student research and innovative projects.

“We are excited to bring the WiSys SPARK Symposium once again to UW Oshkosh. The university has a long tradition of supporting research, innovation and entrepreneurship,” said WiSys President Arjun Sanga. “UW Oshkosh is an ideal host for showcasing the excellence at Wisconsin’s world-class regional universities. Many thanks to Chancellor Dr. Andrew Leavitt for making it happen.”

WiSys’ summer symposium, which travels to different UW System campuses each year, was last hosted by UW Oshkosh in 2016. Established in 1871 and part of the UW System, UW Oshkosh is home to more than 9,700 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students on three campuses.

Symposium program highlights include:

  • WiSys’ student research communication competition the WiSys Quick Pitch State Final.
  • A student research poster and innovation showcase.
  • Faculty research talks.
  • Expert panels on research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
