WiSys reaches pact with Professor Turkiewicz to promote innovation at UW-Green Bay

UW-Green Bay’s Katie L. Turkiewicz is joining the WiSys Campus Champion program in 2019 and 2020.

The associate professor of communication will serve in the role for the Spring 2019, Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters to promote innovation on the UW-Green Bay campus.

WiSys implemented this program to support faculty and staff on WiSys campuses who dedicate significant time to collaborate with WiSys staff to lead and support WiSys innovation events on campus.

Accordingly, WiSys is awarding a stipend primarily for Turkiewicz’s time and effort towards activities related to the Innovation in Aging competition.

“We’re excited to work with Professor Turkiewicz and broaden our reach on the UW-Green Bay campus,” said WiSys President Arjun Sanga.

As the WiSys Campus Champion for UW-Green Bay, Turkiewicz will be on the organizing committee for WiSys’ annual Innovation in Aging student idea competition. The event encourages student teams to present ideas for improving the quality of life for aging populations.

Turkiewicz will also be responsible for leading the promotion of this and other related events within campus departments, colleges and the University.

WiSys is a nonprofit organization that works with faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the UW System to facilitate cutting-edge research programs, develop and commercialize discoveries, and foster a spirit of innovative and entrepreneurial thinking across the state.
