UW-Stevens Point’s Hunter Frey wins WiSys Quick Pitch by explaining video game research

STEVENS POINT—Junior computer information systems major Hunter Frey took first place in the WiSys Quick Pitch @ Home for UW-Stevens Point students in May.

The student “pitch” competition inspires UW System students to consider the impact of their research and effectively communicate it to the public. This year’s event took place virtually because of the coronavirus crisis.

Frey’s presentation focused on a video game called “Borb’s Big Adventure” that helps kids with stress and improves problem solving.

Frey, who won a $300 prize, is now eligible to participate in the WiSys Quick Pitch State Final this summer.
