WiSys would like to congratulate all the award winners who were recognized for their contributions to innovation, students, universities, and Wisconsin at the WiSys SPARK Symposium held at UW-Oshkosh in the summer of 2023.
The grant will support a partnership of 30 organizations from across the state as they lay the groundwork to develop an ambitious, effective and credible 'regional innovation engine' that harnesses the region's talent and intellectual capital to make Wisconsin a global leader in sustainable agriculture.
The WiSys Spark Grant program, with awards of $500 to $10,000 per project, supports faculty, academic staff and student research projects at regional UW System campuses.
The WiSys SPARK Symposium is where research, innovation and entrepreneurship collide. The annual event brings together the best and brightest faculty, staff, students and alumni from the across the UW System to network, collaborate and celebrate great ideas.
UW-Eau Claire and UW-River Falls students were also recognized.
UW-Superior student's innovation was also recognized during the statewide event.

Taking advantage of two WiSys entrepreneurship programs, UW-Eau Claire alums Sam Fitzhenry, Max Bossert, Logan Ickert and UW-Madison graduate Nick Hersperger have been advancing their startup company, ParityBlu.

Jennifer Souter, WiSys' director of intellectual property & licensing, will be leaving WiSys at the end of December to move to Texas to be closer to family.
