The WiSys Spark Grant program, with awards of $500 to $10,000 per project, supports faculty, academic staff and student research projects at regional UW System campuses.
The award is bestowed upon UW System faculty, staff, students or community members who make exemplary contributions as a WiSys innovator.

The award is given to the student presenter whose research shows a high potential for impact on the economy through technology transfer, innovation, new business or job creation.

Jacqueline Sporie, a student at UW-La Crosse, received a WiSys Ambassador Grant to research a new type of antimicrobial material to be used in improving sanitation for a variety of industries, including food preparation, hospitals and schools. WiSys is committed to supporting innovative student research.
