Jamf will co-host the 2020 Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament

MADISON—The Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament, presented by WiSys, is coming to Eau Claire this spring and will be co-hosted by the software company Jamf.

The student business model competition—which is a qualifier for the Business Model Competition Global—will take place on April 18, 2020.

“Not only are Jamf’s offices in Eau Claire a wonderful setting for the tournament, but the company’s success and local roots should inspire our young entrepreneurs,” said WiSys Associate Director Jennifer Souter.

Jamf was co-founded by UW-Eau Claire graduate Zach Hamstad in 2002 and the company maintains a strong presence in Eau Claire.

The Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament brings teams of university students from across the state to pitch innovative business ideas. The competition was established to extend the Wisconsin entrepreneurial ecosystem to University of Wisconsin students with the goal to improve the overall quality of business startup performance in the state.

The first place team will win a $2,500 cash prize, up to $25,000 in seed funding through Ideadvance and funding to compete in the Business Model Competition Global, where the team could win an additional $20,000 prize.
