UW-Baraboo/Sauk County business-economics professor, Musa Ayar, has dedicated much of his time at the university to student research and honors projects, making him a viable candidate and eventual recipient of the Arthur M. Kaplan award. The Arthur M. Kaplan award recognizes exceptional contributions to students made by UW Colleges faculty, and Ayar's “improvement of instructional methods” and “use of technology in the classroom" helped solidify the board's decision to honor the professor.

Ayar views student research and honors projects as an opportunity for students to develop critical thinking skills and to earn hands-on experience in their various fields of study. His work at the university, which began in 2010, has not gone unnoticed and has been highly appreciated by students, faculty, and staff alike.
