Zen Abbey

WiSys Ambassador | UW-Platteville

Zen Abbey was a WiSys Ambassador during the 2015-2016 school year. He graduated from UW-Platteville with a degree in mechanical engineering. He went on to work for Caterpillar as a production development engineer.

About his time as an ambassador Abbey said:

“I have had a phenomenal experience as a student ambassador, not only did I get to meet researchers and entrepreneurs, I got to learn more about cutting edge research and I got hands on experience with prototypes."

"An essential skill that I gained is my confidence in communication, which will be a benefit in my career as an engineer. Through the program I learned the basics of technology transfer, which enhanced my ability as a researcher and entrepreneur.”

The WiSys Ambassador Program enhances the vital connection between WiSys and the research community on UW System campuses. WiSys Ambassadors receive training in Intellectual Property as well as the technology transfer process, and learn how to access resources offered by WiSys and other campus organizations designed to support technology development and entrepreneurial activity.
