WiSys Quick Pitch 2015 winners

For the first annual WiSys Quick Pitch Competition this year at UW-Eau Claire, student innovators were invited to present their research in a three-minute pitch. Challenges of the competition included relaying the impact and importance of one's research in such a short time, while making the information easy to understand and jargon-free.

UW-Eau Claire junior and geography major Drake Bortolameolli won first prize for his pitch of his project titled "Measuring Industrial Waste in Rib Lake Using Ground Penetrating Radar," and computer science major Aaron Emmert took second place.

The two received a cash prize as well as the opportunity to present their pitches during a special Up-and-Coming Innovators session at the 8th annual Wisconsin Science & Technology Symposium.
