UW-River Falls students travel to South Pole for research

Two UW-River Falls physics students will soon begin researching cosmic rays at the South Pole as part of the longest continuously running experiment in Antarctica. Dylan Frikken and Samantha Pedek are joining physics professor and department chair Jim Madsen for a month-long excursion in the hopes of preparing cosmic ray detectors for shipping to the Korean Antarctic base. Their work will contribute to the National Science Foundation project that began in 1961.
