UW-Green Bay alumna and entrepreneur Marianna DeMyer recently created a water purification system that weighs less than 25 pounds and produces up to 1.8 liters of water per minute, while being completely portable.

DeMyer was inspired by a project brought to White Knight Commercial Funding, a startup funding business she co-owns with her husband. She launched her product, Roving Blue, in 2012 and tested it on a 30-day Alaskan wilderness expedition, where the purification system successfully provided clean water to a group of 10 people.

DeMyer completed the ExporTech program through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and says she would like to one day license Roving Blue to other companies.
