Join the brightest minds in the Badger State this summer in Parkside! This two-day event is the year's signature networking opportunity for University of Wisconsin researchers, students and industry professionals. WSTS provides the opportunity for critical networking and formation of partnerships to encourage interdisciplinary research and help further innovative ideas in Wisconsin. Ideas fly. Collaborations spark. What will you take home?
Registration for the 11th annual WSTS is now closed. We look forward to seeing everyone at UW-Parkside later this month!
Dr. Thomas M. Krummel
UW-Parkside Distinguished Alumnus
We are pleased to announce UW-Parkside alumnus Dr. Thomas M. Krummel, an esteemed professor and surgeon at Stanford, as our keynote speaker for WSTS 2018, presenting, "The Best Way to Predict the Future... is to INVENT it!"
Evening Networking Banquet
Please join us for an evening of networking, dinner and special programming at UW-Parkside. This special celebration of innovation will include a banquet dinner, drinks and plenty of opportunity to network with innovators from across the state. An award ceremony will follow to honor the Carl E. Gulbrandsen Innovator of the Year and other impactful work being done in Wisconsin.
As always, the cost of the evening networking event is just $15, which includes dinner, refreshments and special programming. Scholarships from UW System cover the cost of the evening event for all UW students.
This year during a special WSTS session, Yerkes Observatory will offer a private tour and observing sessions* with a 40-inch diameter refractor telescope—the largest lens telescope in the world—and a 24-inch diameter reflector telescope. Both telescopes were formerly used for astronomical research and are now available for public observing opportunities, but will close to the public later this year. For most participants either one will likely be the largest telescope they will have access to for viewing the night sky in detail.
The program costs are usually $100 per person for the 40-inch refractor program and $37.50 per person for the 24-inch reflector program, but WSTS attendees get both at an 80% discounted rate! Sign up below for this one-time opportunity!
You must be registered for WSTS 2018 to attend the STEM Under the Stars optional event.
Rooms have been blocked in two local hotels for WSTS attendees who will be traveling to UW-Parkside. There are a limited number of hotel rooms available in the UW-Parkside region. Please book your hotel early to secure your spot!
